Say "I Do"... Again

Posted February 10, 2020

Valentine's Day is Friday and if you didn't know it, now you do: we New Yorkers are suckers for love.

So much so that a group vowel renewal ceremony will take place on the big day right in the heart of Times Square.

Want to reseal the deal? At 6 p.m., head to the red steps in Duffy Square (you can't miss them) to reaffirm your love with that special someone. Couples of all ages and background will be there, and all religions, races and gender unions will be included.

The ceremony will be preceded by a performance from Broadway's Tony Award-winning Best Busical Dear Evan Hansen. and the whole shebang will end at 6:30. That'll give you enough time to grab a quick bite to eat and catch an evening Broadway performance.

The ceremony is free, but lovebirds that plan to join in should register here.

In addition to the renewals, actual first-time weddings will be performed all day long! There's still time to get a license and round up the necessary two witnesses if you really want to take the big plunge on Friday.

In addition a handful of couples were chosen from written submissions to have their proposal broadcast on one of Times Square's iconic digital screens.

For God's sake, let's just hope they say yes.
