New Year's Eve in Times Square

Oh, but you're a brave one, venturing out to the center of the world to ring in 2023. For the intrepid amongst us, here's the skinny:

The fun starts at 6 p.m., but if you plan to attend, get there as early as possible! Revelers begin to gather in the afternoon, as space is only available on a first-come, first-served basis, on Broadway between 43rd and 50th Streets. (But you can see it as far up as 59th St.) You'll be surrounded by 58,000 people, and by surrounded, we mean squished. And remember that when nature calls, you can't get back in. (And no, there are no public toilets!)

Performers this year include Chelsea Cutler and JVKE, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Chlöe, Journey, Avril Lavigne and Travis Barker and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. The official Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest show begins at 8 p.m. and will last until 2023 begins.

Honestly? It might be better to stay in your room, turn on ABC to see Seacrest or CNN to catch bosom buddies Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, and drink to your good fortune not to be freezing your ass off!
