Start planning your trip, folks. New York City will be hosting a mega-concert to celebrate our reopening in the best way possible...with music!
The show will be part of a "Homecoming Week" marking New York City's return to normalcy post-COVID.
August 21st is the tentative date and the venue will be the Great Lawn in Central Park, with a capacity of--get this--60,000 people.
Already set to perform? Hometown boy Paul Simon for one, who has previously played the park in 1981 with former partner Art Garfunkel and solo a decade later. Plus honorary New Yorkers Bruce Springsteen and R&B songstress Jennifer Hudson.
The majority of the tickets will be free. Non-vaccinated concert-goers will be separated from vaccinated folks, with 70% of the tickets going to the latter. (Yet another reason to get that vaccine, people!)
We'll keep you updated as more concrete details roll in.
But now's the time to plan your stay at WSH and help us New Yorkers celebrate Homecoming Week!
