Remember the New York Philharmonic Bandwagon? Basically it was a truck that travelled around the city this past year, putting on live, outdoor performances to bring joy to our COVID-weary citizens.
Well, get ready for Bandwagon 2. It's a 20-foot-long mobile shipping container complete with a foldout stage, state of the art sound system and an LED video wall!
All throughout the month of May, Bandwagon 2 will be partnering with six New York organizations that use art to inspire their communities, like the National Black Theater and El Puente, to bring you over 100 artists in 39 free, un-ticketed shows throughout the five boroughs.
Dance, films, theater, jazz and the video arts will all be explored.
As with the original Bandwagon, these shows will not be announced much in advance to keep attendance under control, and entry is on a first-come, first-served basis. Head to the Philharmonic' official Twitter account to get the latest on who is performing what where.
It's going to be a fun summer, people. And this is only the beginning.
