Famous Faces of the Washington Square Hotel

Posted March 25, 2020

We've got some time on our hands, so we're thinking a little bit about the past.

Singer, songwriter, musician and activist Joan Baez lived in room 305 with Bob Dylan in 1964. (We take it that you've heard of him?)

During that period, Joan had strong feelings about her new abode...and they weren't positive. In fact, she christened it "that crummy hotel over Washington Square" in the song Diamonds and Rust.

She wasn't wrong, people. But since then, we've worked hard--we clean up well--and should she stay here again, we think she'd change her mind.

Stay strong, friends!
