The New York City Wine and Food Festival is the foodie and wino event of the year. For four days (October 10 through 13), major chefs and TV personalities will join forces with local chef faves at venues all over the city.
So who can you expect to see? Bobby Flay, Masaharu Morimoto, Ted Allen. Plus a bunch of food world hot shots who need only one name: Rachel, Emeril, Martha and Ina (our fave!).
There are tons of events. Like culinary demos, where you can snack and sip as you learn the latest cooking techniques from the likes of a rotating panel of guest chefs, like Robert Irvine and Geoffrey Zakarian.
How about intimate dinners with James Beard award-winner and Michelin star-decorated chef David Bouley or Top Chef''s Hugh Acheson and Executive Chef of Gramercy Tavern and Untitled, Michael Anthony.
There will be master classes in cocktails, chocolate and more. Plus panels, brunches, lunches and healthy eating instruction and grub.
Most of this isn't cheap (dinner with Bouley will set you back $350). But there are some events for $100 or less. 90s icon, lifetime Grammy award-winner and frontman of the legendary group RUN DMC, Reverend Run will host a walk-around tasting based on the food and drink of the 90s. Food Network's Anne Burrell will emcee a cocktail party, tiki style--an evening with a Polynesian flare. And on Sunday, you can bring the kids for a Family Fun-dae ice cream fest hosted by Duff Goldman.
All in all, it seems like there will be something for everyone. Tickets can be found here.
