There's some great stuff coming up on Broadway this winter and early spring. Here are a few of the best.

Days of Wine and Roses, a musical adapted from the 1962 film about a hard-drinking couple in the 1950s, will star Kelli O'Hara (Tony award winner for The King and I) and Brian D'Arcy James (Shrek, Hamilton). Music will be by Adam Guettel (The Light in the Piazza). (Studio 54; through April 28).

The Notebook is now a musical, adapted from the Will Sparks novel and the crazy popular 2004 movie. Music will be provided by indie singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson and playwright Bekah Brunstetter. The main characters are played by various performers throughout the story's decades-long romance: Maryann Plunkett, Dorian Harewood, Joy Woods, Ryan Vasquez, Jordan Tyson and John Cardoza. (Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre; February 10-December 31).

Water for Elephants blends musical theater with puppetry and circus performance in its adaptation of Sara Gruen's 2006 bestseller. Grant Gustin (The Flash) stars as the young man who runs away to join the circus. (Imperial Theatre; February 24-December 31).

Doubt: A Parable is the first Broadway revival of John Patrick Shanley's Pulitzer Prize-winning 2004 did-he-or-didn't-he drama set in a Bronx Catholic school in the early 1960s. None other than Tyne Daly stars as the principal, Sister Mary Aloysius, and Liev Schrieber plays the priest under suspicion for molesting one of his students. Zoe Kazan and Quincy Tyler Bernstine round out the cast. (American Airlines Theatre; February 2-April 14)

Sam Gold directs Amy Herzog's adaptation of Henrik Ibsens' An Enemy of the People, starring Jeremy Strong (Succession). Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) and Victoria Pedretti (The Haunting of Hill House) also star in this tale of a doctor who tells the brutal truth about his town's main tourist attraction. (Circle in the Square; February 27-June 16)

The Who's Tommy is back! Des McAnuff, who directed the original Broadway production of the band's 1969 rock opera has brought it back in an all-new production, 30 years later. Moroccan-American singer-songwriter Ali Louis Bourzgui stars as the blind, deaf and mute lad who becomes a pinball wizard. (There has to be a twist!) (Nederlander Theatre; March 8-December 31).

Few can forget S.E. Hinton's 1967 young-adult novel The Outsiders, or Francis Ford Coppola's 1982 film version of it. Directed by Dayna Taymor (Pass Over), this musical adaptation's cast features unknown actors, most making their Broadway debuts. (Much like Coppola's movie, which launched the careers of Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillon and others.) (Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre; March 16-December 31).
