Tomorrow marks 60 years ago since the Beatles landed in New York City for the very first time and took our country by storm.
I Want To Hold Your Hand had hit the number 1 spot on the Billboard charts just the week before, so it came as no surprise that 3,000 screaming fans nearly caused a riot when they greeted the Fab Four at Kennedy airport.
Two days later, an estimated 73 million viewers (or about 40% of the US population) tuned in to see the boys' first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show--one of the most popular television shows at the time. A few concerts at Carnegie Hall followed and the rest is, as they say, is history.
