It's almost Valentine's Day and you're looking for a way to seal the deal, er, stoke the flames of love.
Wouldn't a lavish meal at a reasonable price do the trick, rather than dumping a wad of hard-earned cash on limp, overpriced flowers and perfume your grandmother wouldn't even wear?
For all of us here at Washington Square Hotel, given a choice of good food over flowers, we're going with the grub. Every. Single. Time.
So here's the deal. Chef Yoel Cruz has created some oh-so-romantic specials to celebrate the day. If you've tasted Yoel's food, you know that it could easily make love blossom.
Here's a sampling of what you'll find:
It's all about lobster for the first course...a bisque ($13) and papparedelle ($20. Meat fans can check out the grilled marinated quail in a herb au jus with cauliflower mash and wild mushrooms ($18).
Entree specials are filet mignon au poivre in a red wine jus with ricotta gnocchi and sauteed spinach ($42), and parmesan and herb-crusted halibut in a beurre blanc with a potato frittata and haricot verts ($30)
And for the all-important dessert? Pastry chef Alana Marshall is offering up a layered red velvet cheesecake with cream cheese frosting and whipped cream, with raspberry and chocolate sauces ($13).
Of course, all of our usual menu offerings will be on hand.
If your romantic situation is currently bleak, you may worry that you'll have to spend V-Day solo.
Fear not. You don't have to! This feast can also be renamed the, "You Would Be Eating Quail and Filet Mignon Right Now If You Didn't Screw It Up, You Narcissistic Fool" Day special.
Yes, we've celebrated this more times than we care to remember. So if you're single, bring your best buddy and toast to your freedom!
Make a rezzie before we're all filled up.
