It's crazy hot here--and everywhere! But if you're visiting us, there are plenty of ways to cool off. The good folks at the Parks Department have put together Cool it! NYC, a map that outlines where you can find drinking fountains, sprinklers to run through, outdoor pools, even trees where you can lounge in the shade. (We've got two spray fountains alone in our own Washington Square Park.)
A note about NYC public pools: There are sixteen in Manhattan alone, and they're open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily; longer during heat waves. Bring a sturdy lock to secure your valuables while you perform that perfect cannonball. The best part about them? They're free, and a great way to cool down after strolling our steamy city streets.

Stay cool, everyone!
