Well, since you asked, a lot!
Musicals are coming that will have you tapping your toes all winter long.
Listen up:
The uber-talented Alicia Keys tells her own coming-of-age story with Hell's Kitchen, a jukebox musical featuring her many hits. Empire State of Mind, Fallin', Girl on Fire--they're all here. 17-year-old phenom Maleah Joi Moon stars. (Shubert Theater)
Cabaret is back! This time starring Adam Lambert as the Emcee and Auli'i Cravalho as Sally Bowles (and the always-incredible Bebe Neuwirth as Fräulein Schneider). (August Wilson Theater)
Gypsy has also returned with the uber-talented Audra McDonald stepping into the role of the tough-as-nails Momma Rose. This is the fifth incarnation of the Stephen Sondheim, Jule Styne and Arthur Laurents musical to hit Broadway, and the presence of McDonald assures it will be a memorable one. (Majestic Theater)
Retired robot neighbors in Seoul forge a friendship (and romance?) in Maybe Happy Ending, starring Darren Criss and Helen J Shen. This one act Korean musical will remind everyone that love is never obsolete. (Belasco Theater)
F. Scott Fitzgerald's Jazz Age novel The Great Gatsby gets the musical treatment, starring Jeremy Jordan (Newsies) through January 19. (Ryan McCartan assumes the title role on January 21). Eva Noblezada plays Daisy until February 10, when Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) takes over.
Buena Vista Social Club, another jukebox musical, features the tunes of the Grammy-winning Cuban artists and was an off-Broadway hit before hitting the Great White Way. (Gerald Schoenfeld Theater, previews start February 21 and the show opens on March 19).
