What's Happening in Central Park?

November 07, 20231 min read

Hello friends!

We wanted to share a really cool guide to help you explore and lay out everything that's happening in Central Park this spring.

In it, you'll find a breakdown of where to find your favorite seasonal blooms in our 778-acre village green. Love cherry blossoms? Hit the Reservoir. (And bring your running shoes to join the other joggers.) Tulips abound in the Conservatory Garden in late April. The North Meadow Butterfly Gardens are chock-full of flowers and shrubs that act as host plants and food sources for a variety of butterfly species!

There are free guided walks for the whole family. Explore the North Woods or the Harlem Meer chaperoned by a park employee who will school you on not only the history of the area, but what it takes to maintain it today.

Available activities are catch-and-release fishing, a class on birding basics...and so much more. Parents can even borrow a Discover Kit for the little ones that include binoculars, field guides, a hand lens, colored pencils and sketch paper--everything a young explorer needs.

What isn't free in the program is extremely affordable. ($15 for a Cherry Blossom Tour? We're in.)
Here's the brochure--give it a look!
