Ahh, Van Gogh's sunflowers.
And lilies and irises and golden wheat fields.
The New York Botanical Garden is bringing a ginormous floral show inspired by Van Gogh's flowers, blending the natural beauty of the buds with large-scale works from contemporary artists Graphic Rewilding, Amie J. Jacobsen and Cyril Lancelin. Not only that, but the floral designers at NYBC will use real flowers to make astonishing recreations of the artist's masterpieces. Visitors will feel like they were dropped inside a Van Gogh canvas!
On select Friday and Saturday evenings through September 13, head to the NYBC for Starry Nights, evening exhibitions that will include a drone show that aims to transform the sky with light and color. Live music evocative of the Parisian bistros and Provençal cafes Van Gogh frequented and cocktails and light bites will be on hand as well.
The event runs from May 24 through October 26, and tickets start at $35 for adults, $31 for students and seniors and $15 for kids 2 through 12.
This sounds amazing and we can't wait!
