The Tony Awards will take place on June 11th at Washington Heights United Palace Theatre. So there's still time to catch some of the nominees before the winners are announced.
The bragging rights for most nominations goes to "Some Like It Hot", Broadway's rendition of the iconic Billy Wilder film with a whopping 13 nominations. Another production garnering multiple nods is "& Juliet", a jukebox musical featuring the songs of Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Ariana Grande and other pop divas...a show that answers that eternal question: "What would have happened if Juliet didn't die?" (Wonder what the Bard would think of this!)
Plenty of revivals are on hand, like "Sweeney Todd", "Into the Woods" and "Camelot". Notable plays are also back on stage, like Ibsen's "A Doll's House" and August Wilson's "The Piano Lesson".
