--Over 100 performances will take place in 18 parks scattered throughout the city through the end of September.

--Multiple genres will be celebrated, including salsa, jazz, hip hop, indie, reggae, Afrobeat, soul, modern dance, and opera.

--Attendees have the chance to discover new artists along with old favorites, like George Clinton, Corinne Bailey Rae, the B-52s, Force MDs, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Berlin and many more.

--It's all free, people! Except for a few select benefit concerts, for which you really should cough up the cash because, well, it's charity!

--All events will take place rain or shine and entry is on a first come, first served basis. Outside food and drink is permitted, except in Central Park, but there will be vendors stationed at the show with drinks and nibbles.

--Finally, it's a blast! And, of course, as it's New York, there's something for everyone, whatever your musical taste. Head here for a full schedule.
