Second City Meets the First City

March 13, 20241 min read

We can now claim to be the ultimate city for comedy. Not only do we have The Comedy Cellar and Gotham, but an offshoot of Chicago's famous Second City has opened here in town. The original opened in 1959, and has launched the careers of such notables as Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Jordan Peele and just about all the cast of Saturday Night Live.

The club is located in Williamsburg and is huge! The space is 12,000 square feet over two floors, and boasts two cabaret-style theaters, a restaurant and bar, and a training center tasked with raising next-gen comics.

The club has been put together with an advisory board of incredible talents, including Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Carrell, Fey and Colbert, so we expect the talent to be spot-on.

A best of Second City show, featuring some of the best sketches from Chicago, is on right now, as long as an improv brunch, where you can grab a little hair of the dog along with laughs.

Tickets start at $39 and varies on the time and seating you prefer (value, general or premium).
