Our Kind of Sunday

Our Kind of Sunday

Can't figure out what to do this Sunday? Don't worry; we've got you. Listen up.

The New York Roadrunners are probably best known for ringing in the new year with their crazy, frigid four-mile midnight run in Central Park...clearly not for the faint of heart or the weak of knees. The good news is they're dedicated to exercise for all, regardless of fitness level, so they also organize fun events designed to simply make us move!

This Sunday, March 24th, from noon to 1 p.m., head to the NYRR RUNCENTER in midtown for a class focused on moves created by our friends from India! Bollywood is a mix of dance styles performed in the films of the same name, including traditional Indian styles of bharatanatyam, kathak, folk styles, and modern jazz, hip-hop or belly dance. The class consists of a jazz warmup, followed by a Bollywood dance routine. Students can burn over 500 calories while channeling their inner Priyanka Chopra.

Speaking of calories, as we said, post-class you've got 500 extra to blow. Yay! So you need to head to Queens College for the Queens Chocolate Fest. A $14 ticket will gain you entry to purchase the best of the best chocolate bars, toffee, pudding shots, fudge, dipped pretzels, chocolate spreads, cookies, vegan truffles and more. Lots more. Like pickles, honey and soaps that look and smell like real chocolates. Chocolatiers, baked goods and specialty food vendors will be on hand to answer all of your cacao-centric queries.

Not a bad way to spend a Sunday, right?

Have a great weekend, everyone!
