Wine....and delicious food. The best things in life, no doubt. So it's time to enjoy them at the New York City Wine & Food Festival, brought to you by the good folks at The Food Network.
This is the 17th iteration of the festival, and for the first time, the event will take place in Brooklyn. All of the main events, from the Grand Tasting to pier parties, will take place in a new 450,000-square-foot culinary campus in the Brooklyn Army Terminal in Sunset Park, an easy subway ride from the hotel.
There will be over 80 events over four days (October 17-20), featuring more than 500 chefs presenting dishes guaranteed to make your mouth water. Celebrity chefs including José Andrés, Daniel Boulud, Scott Conant, Alex Guarnaschelli, Bobby Flay and more will strut their stuff at various events: intimate dinners, cooking demos, master classes, cocktail parties and more.
A few highlights:
The celebration will kick off on Thursday with a Brooklyn Eats & Beats event, hosted by none other than Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, which will showcase tastings by over 25 area chefs, not to mention the duo's ready-to-drink cocktail Gin & Juice.
An Asian Bites & Karaoke Nights tasting on Friday night, hosted by Jet Tila.
A Rainbow Cookie Croissant Master Class hosted by Bilena Settepani.
A Saturday night dinner hosted by Eric Adjepong and Tiffani Faison.
An Absolut vodka Drag Disco hosted by David Burtka and Neil Patrick Harris.
A Fried Chicken Master Class hoste by Charles Gabriel of Charles Pan Fried Chicken.
An Oyster Bash hosted by Andrew Zimmern.
A Grand Tasting, in which you can sample hundreds of amazing wine and spirits, plus a mouthwatering selection of bites from all five boroughs of the city.
A bonus of attending will be the knowledge that the festival supports God's Love We Deliver, which provides meals and nutrition counseling for those living with severe illnesses.
It all sounds like so much fun, and you'd be paying it forward to those in need, so check it out!
