Autumn is the best time to be outside here in the city, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art knows that. That's why they've come up with MetFest, a blow-out block party that not only takes place on the streets surrounding the museum, but inside as well.

So what can you expect? Live music, energizing performances and artist-led experiences for all ages. Gallery chats, pop-up talks, hands-on art activities and food, courtesy of the Queens Night Market, will all be on hand. Games (chess, cornhole), crafts (weaving, drawing, crochet), hula hoop demonstrations, puppetry, poetry readings...the list goes on forever.

The date is Saturday, October 21 from noon to 6 PM. All outdoor events are free, while indoor ones only cost the price of museum admission ($30 for adults; $22 for seniors; $17 for students; free for kids under 12).
