Billie Jean King Tennis Center

Get Ready for the US Open!

August 01, 20242 min read

Everyone's favorite tennis tourney takes place from Monday, August 26 through Sunday, September 7 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens, a quick subway ride away from the hotel. Novak Djokovic and Coco Gauff are the reigning champs, but as we know, in tennis, that can change on a dime.

Tickets to the 25 tournament sessions, from reserved stadium seating to general admission ground passes are available here. Pro tip: Get the grounds passes. It's so much fun to see a 100 mph serve close up! (How do they do that?) And you just might get a chance to see the next Roger Federer or Serena Williams. Plus it's also a blast to see your favorite players warming up on the practice courts.

The food, in our opinion, blows away any you'll find at a baseball game. Creative concession grub is available, of course, but so is fancy fare, like Michelin-starred Ed Brown, James Beard Award-winning Kwame Onwuachi and Iron Chef Masahuru Morimoto, all teaming up at Aces. Grab some Korean fried chicken from COQODAQ, pasta from Eataly, a filet mignon steak sandwich from Pat LaFrieda Meat Co., brisket from Hill Country, pastrami on rye from Glatt Kosher, or a rice bowl from Korilla BBQ. Pop open a Heineken to wash it all down and you're good to go for the next set.

Can't wait until the 26th to get your tennis on? Fan Weeks takes place from August 19 through August 25. This is the period when the qualifying player matches take place, and the USTA has turned it into an event. First of all, it's free. Secondly, exhibition matches are put together for entertainment. This year's player include the Williams sisters, John McEnroe, Novak Djokovic and Frances Tiafoe. (Exhibitions will cost you, though, starting at $35.) Arthur Ashe's Kids' Day will take place on Saturday, August 24, complete with special family-friendly activities and entertainment.
