Want to view and purchase contemporary art created by over 1,ooo different artists, along with catching live performances and having conversations with creative minds?

The Frieze Art Fair is happening this weekend on Randall's Island. Head there to check out--and possibly purchase--scultpures, paintings, photographs and more from known artists and emerging talents

Some highlights: Diálogos, a section devoted to Latin American artists, like Ana Mendieta, Ken Gonzales-Day and Marta Chilindron. Electric, a virtual reality exhibit which features a selection of VR artworks by artists of different generations, including Anish Kapoor, Rachel Rossin and Timur Si-Quin. The Doors of Perception is an exhibition that will concentrate specifically on self-taught art, featuring such visionaries as Susan Te Kahurangi King, Noviadi Angkasapura and Melvin Way.

Tickets must be purchased online ($57 for adults; $29 for students 13-18; $5.40 for the little ones).The coolest way to get there is to take a ferry from the East 35th St. dock, with roundtrip ferry tickets costing $20.45.
