Food Trucks!

Food Trucks!

November 07, 20232 min read

Who: Fifteen gourmet food trucks and thirty local vendors serving up the best of the best of local movable feasts.

What: NYC Food Truck Fest!

When: Saturday, April 13th

Where: The Grand Bazaar on the Upper West Side at the corner of 77th and Columbus.
Why: Dumplings and lobster rolls and crepes, oh my!

The Grand Bazaar is an outdoor market usually open on Sundays. FYI--check it out because you can browse over a hundred dealers hawking one-of-a-kind art, fashion, vintage, collectibles, jewelry, antiques and furniture. And you can feel good snagging those handmade pearl earrings that you may or may not need because profits benefit local public schools.

Anyway, back to the matter at hand...food!

Here's a sampling of what you'll find: Chef Samir's Truck dishes up Mediterranean fare like shawarma, kofta and couscous. The Guac Spot specializes in the beloved avocado and the healthy eats you can make with it. STUF'D's thing is twice-baked panko-parmesan crusted challah bread stuffed sandwiches. (Evil geniuses, we say!) Hard Time Sundaes Truck is famous for, believe it or not, burgers with American cheese, caramelized onions and thick cut hardwood smoked bacon on a butter and grilled potato roll. The Hapa Truck satisfies all Asian-Pacific cravings.

The doors open at 11 am and close at 5:30. Cost is $3 online and $5 at the door. Admission gains you access to all the grub, plus a complimentary beverage of Honest Tea, Zico Coconut Water or Hubert's Lemonade. Kids under 10 are free. VIP access which costs $15 online and $20 at the door will get you in at 10 am, so you can sample the goods before the crowds hit.

A quick note: the Grand Bazaar is a block away from the American Museum of Natural History, so you can make a day of it!
