After a brief break (wasn't 2020 just one big, fat long break?) the Jazz Age Lawn Party is back!
This outdoor bash started as a small gathering of like-minded friends...but has snowballed into one of our favorite summer-is-here celebrations in New York City. It's a Roaring 20s-themed party, where attendees are encouraged to wear period dress, sip classic cocktails and dance along to live jazz.
Head to Governors Island via ferry (with views of Manhattan and Lady Liberty en route). Once there, sip on the event's signature cocktail, the aperol spritz, a Moscow mule, or wine or beer as you take your place among fellow flappers and sporting gents.
Dance lessons, photo booths, a kids' carnival, vintage clothing vendors, a 1920s motorcar exhibition...even a pop-up barber shop--will be on hand. And of course, dancing. Lots and lots of dancing. Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra, the world's premier Jazz Age dance orchestra, and other performers will get your toes tapping. Picnic fare will be available for purchase.
The fun takes place on June 12th and 13th. And of course, masks and social distancing will be de rigeur.
