We all love art...but our bank accounts? Errr...sometimes they don't exactly feel the same way. So we welcome the Affordable Art Fair at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea next week.
The event runs from next Wednesday, September 25th through Sunday, the 29th. Over 70 local, national and international exhibitors will showcase original work from over 300 contemporary artists. Prices range from between $100 to $10,000, so almost anyone would be able to find something perfect for that empty wall above their couch without forgoing food for the next few months.
The event features performances, talks, hands-on workshops, kids activities and personal shopping experiences. And of course, a café and bar. (Readers of this blog know that we rarely go anywhere that doesn't feature food and booze. But that's just us.) The curators are really particular when choosing the artists, so you can be sure that the paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints and more pass muster with those in the know.
Tickets cost from $0 (free admission on Friday night from 6 - 8 p.m.) to $80 for a private view at certain times on certain days. General admission is a reasonable $20. For a full run-down on all the admission costs and times (there's a designated stroller hour!) head here.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
